Call of Duty: Mobile Announces Surprise Honkai Impact 3rd Collaboration

Call of Duty: Mobile is crossing over with Honkai Impact 3rd in one of the most unexpected mobile gaming collaborations of the year.

The crossover was teased on August 7 through Call of Duty: Mobile’s official social media channels, where the game shared a short “Coming soon” announcement for Honkai Impact 3rd. Garena Call of Duty Mobile later confirmed that the collaboration will arrive this September.

That was enough to get both communities talking.

Call of Duty: Mobile is known for military shooter gameplay, Operators, weapon blueprints, multiplayer modes, and battle royale. Honkai Impact 3rd, from HoYoverse, is an anime-style action RPG built around Valkyries, Herrscher powers, sci-fi battles, and long-running character stories.

That contrast is exactly why the reveal caught players by surprise.

According to GosuGamers, the crossover was announced during a livestream on Friday, August 7, where the reveal drew cheers from the crowd. Online viewers appeared more confused, with livestream comments reportedly filling with question marks after the promotional trailer appeared.

A poster shared through Tencent’s official Call of Duty Mobile Bilibili account also appeared to tease three Honkai Impact 3rd characters. The silhouettes point to Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zaychik, specifically their Herrscher of Flamescion, Herrscher of Thunder, and Herrscher of Reason forms.

For longtime Honkai fans, those choices make sense.

Kiana, Mei, and Bronya are among the most recognizable characters in Honkai Impact 3rd. They were central figures in the game’s early story, which makes them a natural trio for a crossover aimed at both longtime players and newer fans who discovered HoYoverse through its wider catalog.

Beebom reported that the collaboration is expected to bring Operator skins, Honkai-themed cosmetics, and exclusive content to Call of Duty: Mobile. The outlet also noted that Rin Yoshida, Siren, and Kestrel appear to be tied to Honkai-inspired designs based on Raiden Mei, Kiana, and Bronya.

For now, Activision has not fully detailed the event structure.

The exact launch date, event duration, free rewards, premium draws, weapon blueprints, and possible limited-time mode details have not been officially announced as of this writing.

That leaves one big question for players: will this be a simple cosmetic crossover, or will Call of Duty: Mobile build a larger Honkai-themed event around it?

The timing is also notable because Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7, titled Terminated, recently went live with a Terminator 2: Judgment Day collaboration. That season includes new multiplayer content, Battle Royale: Lockdown, the Cronen Squall Assault Rifle, and cybernetic-themed rewards.

With Honkai Impact 3rd now lined up for September, Call of Duty: Mobile appears to be leaning even harder into crossover content. The game has already used major entertainment partnerships to keep each season fresh, but this one stands out because it connects a military FPS with one of HoYoverse’s most recognizable anime action titles.

More details are expected closer to the collaboration’s release window. Until then, players will have to wait and see how Kiana, Mei, and Bronya are brought into the world of Call of Duty: Mobile.
