Samsung has confirmed its August 2026 security update for eligible Galaxy phones and tablets, with the latest patch bringing fixes for 56 vulnerabilities across Android and Samsung\u2019s own software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The update comes after Forbes reported that Samsung had moved ahead in confirming 38 new Android security fixes included in its latest Galaxy maintenance release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Samsung\u2019s official Mobile Security bulletin, the August 2026 Security Maintenance Release includes patches from both Google and Samsung. The Google side covers 38 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, while Samsung adds 18 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That makes this a patch Galaxy users should not ignore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Samsung\u2019s August 2026 patch includes eight critical Android fixes and 30 high-priority Android fixes from Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company also confirmed 18 Samsung-specific fixes, including two high-priority issues, several moderate-priority issues, and some items that were not fully disclosed for security reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the affected areas include Samsung Contacts, Samsung Dialer, Samsung Messages, Galaxy Themes, system clipboard access, audio and video codecs, AppLock, and cellular radio-related components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the high-priority Samsung fixes addresses improper access control in Weaver that could allow local attackers to cause device inoperability. Another involves improper input validation in Galaxy Themes that could allow physical attackers to launch arbitrary activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Samsung also listed issues involving clipboard data access, Samsung Contacts permissions, Samsung Messages information access, and codec-related memory problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
