The internet giant is adding a new way to record presentations in Google Slides using Google Vids, giving users a faster option to turn slide decks into shareable video content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The update adds a new Record<\/strong> option directly inside the Google Slides interface. Once selected, the feature guides users through a recording workflow and produces a shareable link when the recording is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Slides Gets a New Record Option<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Google Workspace Updates, the new integration brings Google Vids recording tools into Slides. Users will see the new Record<\/strong> option in the right-hand menu of Google Slides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feature is designed for people who want to turn a presentation into a polished video without leaving Google Workspace. Google says the integration includes advanced creation tools such as transcript-based editing and voiceover generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That makes the update useful for teams creating training videos, class presentations, product explainers, internal updates, and recorded meeting materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Vids Brings Video Tools Into Slides<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Google Vids is Google Workspace\u2019s video creation and editing app. With this new Slides integration, users can move from a standard slide deck to a video presentation more easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google\u2019s Help Center says users can already use a Google Slides presentation to create a video in Google Vids. Each slide becomes a new scene, and users can review, edit, or delete scenes before finishing the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Gemini in Vids, eligible users can also generate scripts, AI voiceovers, background music, and animations from their imported slides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Existing Slides Recording Is Not Going Away Yet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Google is not immediately removing the older Slides recording experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For organizations that already use the existing Slides recording option, Google says users will have access to both the legacy recording experience and the new Vids-powered recording workflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The older Slides recording feature will move to View -> Slides Recording<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Can Use the New Google Slides and Vids Integration?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new recording feature is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google says there is no admin control for the feature and no end-user setting required. This means users should see the option once the rollout reaches their account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rollout Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Google started the gradual rollout for Rapid Release domains on August 20, 2026. The company says visibility may take up to 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Scheduled Release domains, the full rollout is set to begin on September 7, 2026, with feature visibility expected within one to three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
