That made the extended look more important than a normal trailer.

This time, the preview gave players a more direct idea of what GTA 6 may look like on PS5.

That matters because many fans have been asking whether the standard console can handle the game’s dense city streets, lighting, facial detail, traffic, crowds, and fast world transitions.

The short answer: the game looks extremely ambitious.

The preview shows dense crowds, more varied NPCs, realistic lighting, detailed facial close-ups, and animations that appear less repetitive than what players are used to seeing in older open-world games.

Graphics Look Like the Main Trade-Off

SVG noted that GTA 6 appears to be targeting 30fps for now, though Rockstar has not announced full performance mode details for launch.

That will disappoint players hoping for a 60fps experience on day one, especially with the PS5 Pro now part of the console conversation. But if the footage reflects the final visual target, Rockstar seems to be choosing detail and density over raw frame rate.

That trade-off is not surprising for a game this large.

GTA 6 is not only trying to look sharp in still shots. It also has to keep its world moving, with crowds, cars, lighting, physics, interiors, combat, dialogue scenes, and character transitions all happening inside one open-world environment.

For many players, the question will be simple: does the game feel smooth enough at 30fps if the world looks this detailed?

Loading Screens May Be Kept to a Minimum

One of the most encouraging parts of the extended look is how little traditional loading appears to be shown.

SVG pointed out that cutscenes and gameplay seem to move into each other smoothly in several moments. Character switching also appears fast, especially when Jason and Lucia are close to each other during gameplay.

There is still a longer transition when the action moves between different parts of the city, using a camera movement style similar to GTA 5’s character switching system. Even then, the transition appears to take only a few seconds in the preview.

That does not mean GTA 6 will have no loading screens at all.

Trailers are carefully edited, and final performance can vary depending on the scene, patch version, and console setup.

But the footage suggests Rockstar is aiming for a world that feels continuous rather than constantly interrupted.

DualSense Features Are Still Not Fully Confirmed

The extended look also raised questions about how GTA 6 might use the PS5 DualSense controller.

SVG highlighted one moment where a “hold hands” prompt appears with the R2 button while Jason and Lucia walk together. That has led to speculation that Rockstar could use adaptive triggers or haptic feedback during smaller character interactions, not just driving, shooting, or explosions.

For now, that part remains speculation. Rockstar has not fully detailed how GTA 6 will use DualSense features.

Still, the possibility is interesting because GTA 6 seems to be leaning heavily into immersion.

If Rockstar uses haptics carefully, the controller could make quiet moments feel more physical, not only action sequences.

What This Means for GTA 6 Players

The extended look does not answer every technical question.

Players still need final details on resolution, frame rate options, PS5 Pro upgrades, Xbox Series X|S performance, and whether a 60fps mode will arrive later.

But it does give PS5 owners a clearer reason to be optimistic.

GTA 6 already had the hype. Now it has a stronger technical showing to match it.

As of this writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

via: Rockstar Games | SVG

If GTA 6 really looks this strong on PS5, Rockstar may have just answered one of the biggest performance worries before launch.
