The concepts include themed areas at Miami International Airport<\/strong>, wrapped Metromover trains, branded buses and rail stations, special manhole covers, a car event at Tropical Park and a Vice City-themed recording space at the main library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most eye-catching ideas involves Miami International Airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposal includes GTA-inspired airport displays and branding connected to Vice City, the fictional setting that Rockstar describes as part of the state of Leonida. A temporary \u201cVice City Airport\u201d identity has also been discussed publicly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation was created on June 29, 2026<\/strong>, according to an examination of the document and its file information. Public-record reporting says the county sent the presentation to Rockstar that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is, however, some difference in how the start of the talks has been described. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CBS Miami reported that Carlos Suarez<\/strong>, communications director for Mayor Daniella Levine Cava<\/strong>, said Rockstar approached the county about possible collaboration opportunities. Other reporting based on the pitch document shows Miami-Dade developing and sending the specific Vice City concepts to Rockstar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is clear is that discussions took place, while no agreement has been finalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could Rockstar Pay for Real Miami-Dade Improvements?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That possibility gives the story a different side from the debate over GTA\u2019s violent content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some concepts would not simply place advertising on public property. The pitch also considers having Rockstar support improvements such as shaded seating, bicycle facilities, water refill stations, landscaping and other upgrades at public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami-Dade officials have presented the talks as a possible way to generate revenue while taking advantage of the enormous attention GTA 6 is expected to bring to the Miami-inspired setting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A county spokesperson told Local 10 that Miami-Dade sees a chance to earn revenue while showing the county to a large audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No public dollar amount has been confirmed, however. There is currently no verified figure showing how much Rockstar might pay, how much Miami-Dade could earn or what any permanent improvements would be worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Are the Sheriff and Commissioner Against the Plan?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cordero-Stutz and Bermudez publicly opposed the proposal on September 3, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bermudez said Miami-Dade should not use public facilities and its reputation to promote a fictional version of the area associated with crime and violence. He also called for more information about the public benefit, costs and county resources that could be involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cordero-Stutz made a similar argument from a law-enforcement perspective. She noted that the Grand Theft Auto series includes crimes such as robbery, drug trafficking, carjacking and violence against police\u2014the same types of crimes local officers work to prevent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their opposition does not<\/strong> mean the plan has been canceled. Neither official announced the cancellation of a completed deal, because no completed agreement currently exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why This GTA 6 Debate Matters Beyond Gaming<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is really a debate about what Miami-Dade gets in return for lending public spaces to one of entertainment\u2019s biggest brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Rockstar funded useful improvements and the county earned meaningful revenue, supporters could argue that residents would benefit from GTA 6\u2019s popularity. If the main result were temporary advertisements across public facilities, critics could reasonably ask whether the county gave too much of its identity to a fictional version of Miami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That balance cannot be judged yet because the financial terms have not been made public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Happens Next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Miami-Dade would still need to move any actual partnership through the required review and approval process. The concepts in the presentation are preliminary, and individual projects could change or disappear completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rockstar, meanwhile, still lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026<\/strong>, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S<\/strong>. The Miami-Dade dispute has not changed the game\u2019s announced release date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key details to watch now are not another GTA trailer or screenshot. They are the proposed price of the partnership, what Rockstar would pay for, and whether Miami-Dade officials decide the public benefits are worth turning parts of the real county into Vice City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
