Moburst has launched Answerburst, a new sub-brand focused on answer engine optimization as brands compete for visibility inside AI-generated search results.
The company announced Answerburst on August 17, 2026, describing it as a dedicated AEO practice built to help clients get named, recommended, and cited by AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and other large language models.
Moburst Puts Founder Lior Eldan in Charge of Answerburst
Answerburst will be led by Moburst co-founder and COO Lior Eldan.
According to the company’s announcement, this marks the first time a Moburst founder has stepped out of the boardroom to run a standalone unit. The move signals how important AI search has become to the agency’s growth strategy.
Moburst said the new sub-brand is designed for a search environment where users are no longer only clicking through traditional search results. Instead, many are asking AI tools for direct recommendations and acting on the answers they receive.
What Answerburst Is Built to Do
Answerburst focuses on helping brands become visible across AI answer engines.
The sub-brand is built around AEO, or answer engine optimization. Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses heavily on ranking webpages in search results, AEO focuses on whether AI systems recognize, trust, mention, recommend, and cite a brand in generated answers.
Moburst said Answerburst will work across several visibility channels, including websites, content, PR, podcasts, customer reviews, guest posting, video, and other digital signals that large language models may use when forming answers.
Why Moburst Says AI Search Needs a Different Strategy
The launch comes as marketers rethink search visibility in the AI era.
Moburst said traditional SEO is no longer enough when users ask AI models for answers instead of browsing search results. Its official Answerburst page says buyers are increasingly asking AI tools directly, and brands that appear in those answers can influence decisions before a website visit happens.
That is the gap Answerburst is trying to address. Its goal is not only to improve rankings, but to make brands easier for AI systems to understand, trust, and cite.
Answerburst Uses Moburst’s Growth Labs Technology
Answerburst is powered by technology built inside Moburst’s Growth Labs innovation unit.
According to the announcement, the platform includes Visibility by Moburst, which monitors a brand’s AI visibility across major large language models. It also tracks changes in a brand’s broader digital footprint and compares movement against competitors.
Moburst said its Growth Labs research team uses those signals to build a proprietary Index of Influence, which is designed to identify what improves visibility across AI platforms.
AEO Expands Beyond Websites
One of the biggest points in Moburst’s announcement is that AEO covers more than website optimization.
Eldan said AEO is not simply SEO under a new name. He said AI models look at a brand’s full digital footprint, including PR coverage, podcasts, YouTube, social media, Wikipedia, Reddit threads, and other public signals.
That matters because AI search platforms do not work exactly like traditional search engines. A brand may have a strong website but still fail to appear in AI-generated recommendations if the broader web does not support its authority.
Moburst Connects Answerburst to Its ASO History
Moburst framed the launch as similar to its early move into App Store Optimization.
The company said it built one of the industry’s early ASO practices when mobile app discovery was still developing. With Answerburst, Moburst is making a similar bet on AI-driven discovery.
The difference is scale. AI search affects more than app visibility. It can influence how customers choose products, services, vendors, agencies, and brands across categories.
What This Means for Brands
For brands, the launch shows how quickly search strategy is changing.
Ranking on Google still matters, but it is no longer the only visibility problem. Companies now also have to think about whether AI systems can identify them as trusted answers in their category.
Answerburst is Moburst’s attempt to turn that shift into a dedicated service line. If AI platforms continue to shape how people discover and compare brands, AEO could become a larger part of digital marketing strategy.
Moburst has not announced separate pricing or a public client list for Answerburst in the release. The company is positioning the new sub-brand as part of its wider full-service marketing offering, with a focus on AI search visibility, citations, and brand authority across answer engines.
