Rockstar is finally giving GTA 6 fans something official to talk about, and the timing could not be better after a messy week of leaks.
Rockstar Games will premiere Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on Netflix today, August 27, at 3 PM ET, giving subscribers an early look at the highly anticipated open-world game before the preview appears later on Rockstar’s official platforms.
The preview is expected to be one of the biggest official updates for GTA 6 so far, especially because Rockstar’s own site now lists the showcase prominently on the Grand Theft Auto VI page.
The game is still scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA 6 Extended Look Arrives First on Netflix
According to Forbes, the GTA 6 Extended Look will premiere on Netflix at 3 PM ET, then arrive on YouTube six hours later at 9 PM ET.
The report described the rollout as an unusual preview setup, since Rockstar is giving Netflix members first access before the wider YouTube release.
For players in the Philippines, that means the Netflix premiere lands early Friday morning, August 28, at around 3 AM PHT, while the YouTube release follows at around 9 AM PHT.
Another GTA 6 Preview Is Also Coming
The Netflix showcase may not be the only GTA 6 update fans get today.
Forbes reported that creator and press impressions are also expected after the Netflix Extended Look ends.
YouTuber TGG said he was invited to Rockstar North in Edinburgh last month and learned exclusive GTA 6 information, which he plans to share after the Extended Look is released.
That means fans may get two waves of information: the official Rockstar showcase first, followed by commentary from creators and press who saw more during a private preview event.
Fans Should Still Temper Expectations
The Forbes report also noted that the private preview may have been a hands-off showcase rather than a playable demo.
In other words, attendees may have been shown footage and gameplay details without being allowed to freely play missions or explore the game themselves.
That still matters.
Even if the preview was not hands-on, creator and press impressions could help answer some of the biggest questions fans still have about gameplay, Vice City, Jason and Lucia, and how Rockstar is building the state of Leonida.
GTA 6 Needs an Official Reset After the Leaks
The timing of the showcase is especially important because GTA 6 leaks have continued to circulate online.
Forbes reported that leaked footage and story-related material have been appearing ahead of the Netflix reveal, raising the pressure on Rockstar’s official preview.
That makes today’s Extended Look feel less like a normal trailer drop and more like Rockstar’s chance to steer the conversation back to the version of GTA 6 it wants players to see.
What Happens Next?
Rockstar has not said exactly how long the Extended Look will run, but the preview is expected to give fans a deeper look at GTA 6 than the previous trailers.
The Netflix premiere begins today at 3 PM ET, followed by the wider release at 9 PM ET. After that, fans should expect a flood of creator reactions, press breakdowns, gameplay analysis, and frame-by-frame theories.
As of this writing, Grand Theft Auto VI remains set for release on November 19, 2026.
